Garbage and Recycling Changes for 2006
As of January 1, 2006 our garbage hauler will be J. P. Mascaro & Sons of Nanticoke. The normal pick-up day will remain Thursday AM. When a holiday occurs during the week, the pick-up day will change to the next business day. If a resident has property damage as a result of garbage pick-up, they are asked to call the hauling company directly at 1-800-243-7575. Calls for missed pick-ups will still be directed to Weatherly Borough Office at 427-8640.
On December 31, 2005 Weatherly Borough's Curbside Recycling Program will end. However, it will be replaced by the Carbon County's Blue Bin Recycling Program. The county will soon place a "Big Blue Bin" like the one in Beaver Meadows at the lower end of the Eurana Park parking lot. The orange and black recycling containers can still be used for collection of recyclables and transporting them to the blue bin. Instead of waiting for a single monthly pick up, this bin will make recycling more convenient for any time of the day or week, or whenever your bins are overflowing. Thanksgiving Closed Thursday, 11/23, Friday, 11/24, Monday, 11/27. November bills may be paid on Tuesday, 11/28 without late charges.
Christmas Closed Friday, 12/22 at Noon, Monday, 12/25, Tuesday, 12/26. December bills may be paid on Wednesday, 12/27 without late charges.
New Year 2007 Closed Monday, 1/1/07.
